Home to the legendary Ryder Cup in 1997 and several Volvo Masters tournaments, it most recently hosted the Spanish Open in April 2016.
MARBELLA GOLF COUNTRY CLUB
Marbella Golf Country Club, located in the heart of the Costa del Golf, just 5 minutes from the centre of Marbella, offers one of the best and most challenging golf experiences on the Costa del Sol with two very different 9-hole layouts. The golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1994, is surrounded by nature, and most of its 18 holes offer spectacular sea views. The impressive clubhouse features the El Olivo Restaurant with its spacious terraces.
GOLF TORREQUEBRADA
The Torrequebrada golf course was founded in 1976 and designed by José Gancedo, one of the greatest golf enthusiasts in the history of Spanish golf. He has subsequently designed other golf courses in Spain, the rest of Europe and America. It is currently considered one of the best golf courses in Europe.
CHAPARRAL GOLF
Since its reopening, El Chaparral Golf Club has become one of the most attractive golf clubs on the Costa del Sol, a result of the determination and efforts of Antonio Rubio’s family business to position El Chaparral Golf Club as one of the preferred golf courses in southern Spain. With an original Pepe Gancedo design, this is the only golf course on the Costa del Sol with 6 par-3, 6 par-4 and 6 par-5 holes. With a total length of 6,000 metres, it offers a wide variety of holes and is a challenging course that requires high levels of precision and skill.
MIJAS GOLF
Over the last few decades, Mijas Golf has become one of Europe’s most popular golf resorts, renowned for the excellent condition of its courses, a friendly atmosphere and outstanding service for guests. The Los Lagos and Los Olivos courses are located in the Mijas Valley, north of Fuengirola and just 20 minutes from Málaga International Airport and Marbella, and 3.5 km from the sea. CABOPINO GOLF MARBELLA
Built in 2001, this 18-hole course was designed by Juan Ligues Creus and boasts spectacular panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, as well as beautiful vegetation with an abundance of magnificent, wide-crowned pines.
LAURO GOLF
Lauro Golf is located amidst beautiful, unspoilt nature, in a traditional Andalusian building with restaurants, golf shops, swimming pools, a paddle tennis court, a turf club and an equestrian centre. The course, designed by Folco Nardi and Mariano Benítez, features 27 holes that can be played in three different combinations with a total par of 72.
LOS NARANJOS GOLF
Los Naranjos is a typical Robert Trent Jones Sr. design, with generous fairways and strategically placed bunkers and water hazards. The greens, with Penn A4 grass, are spacious and gently undulating. The tees are long and have four markers: red, yellow, white and black, with course lengths starting at 5,131 metres and reaching a maximum of 6,532 metres. Since it opened in 1977, Los Naranjos has hosted several major competitions, including the Spanish Open, and is ranked as one of the best golf courses in Spain. It was voted “Course of the Year” on the Costa del Sol in 2005 and 2008.
